Pakistan Government Challenges Order to Move Imran Khan to Private Hospital
The Pakistani government has filed a review petition with the Supreme Court of Pakistan challenging an order to transfer jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail to a private medical facility in Islamabad. While the top court directed that Khan be admitted to Shifa International Hospital for specialized care regarding an eye condition, government officials argue that prison rules require convicts to be treated at public facilities unless standard care proves insufficient.
